Under the lights at Cairns Field, three Diggers pitchers combined for the shutout in a 4-0 victory over the Tigers.  This game was so quick the teams should get a rebate on their lights fees.

Quite the opposite at Dief tonight.  With the wind blowing out, the Expos scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to down the Wombats 16-15.  Colin Patterson homered for the Expos.

Monday, May 9

Tonight at Leakos, the Rangers got 5 1/3 strong innings from Steve Pura in beating the Royals 10-5.  Justin Whiteside chipped in with 3 RBI's for the Rangers.

At Dief, the Swamp Dawgs defeated the Angels 10-6.  Shane Weinberger hit the first home run of the season for the Dawgs and Brian Fedyk picked up the win in relief.

At Girgulis, the Tigers' Jamie Jantzen was in mid-season form, pitching a 6 inning complete game shutout as the Tigers downed the Pirates 10-0.

At McCourt, Armand Sewell came through with a game winning RBI single with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, leading the Rhinos to a 7-6 victory over the Brewers.  Don Petrinchuk went the distance for the victory.

(Isn't it amazing how veteran Men's League pitchers can throw a complete game first time out, and finely tuned major league pitchers need six weeks to work up to it...........)
