Ball Meeting Wed. Apr. 7
posted: 04/02/2010

To all teams,

We have scheduled our spring meeting for Wed. April 7 at 7pm at Smitty’s on Circle Drive ( same meeting room as last year ).

We have two teams ( Watrous and Lockwood ) that will not be returning this year and two teams ( junior team from Braves zone and Muenster ) have expressed interest in joining the league. Currently we have 19 teams returning and only two fields to use ( Dief. 1 and Leakos ) so please be prepared to vote on adding team(s) if they are still interested. They have been invited to the meeting. Please keep in mind we will play league games 6 nights/week ( including Sundays ) and also games Sunday afternoons to fit everything in so if teams are added, the weekend games will have to increase. Up to now we have no indication from the city as to whether McCourt will be available, but Cairns field will be available for up to two games per team if we want to use it. The cost to teams would be about $ 150/team for day games and $ 200/team for games under the lights. These costs would be in addition to your regular league fees which we are estimating to be at $ 2400 this year, so please be prepared to vote on Cairns field games as well.

Some of the other items to be covered include:

-$ 500 deposit required at meeting

-Umpires ( it’s possible the teams will have to base ump all games )

-Scheduling ( based on teams/fields )

-Fees ( increase to $ 2400? )

-Default games ( increase fee to $ 300/game? )

-Adding Gary Dodds to the executive to replace Sheldon Ball

-Probation list for players who have been suspended or ejected in the past

-Ineligible players ( from Yellow Jackets or senior league )

-Penalty for not showing up to ump games

-Website-any comments/feedback

-Maintenance at Leakos ( same as last year ) and Dief. 1 ( we need someone to do it )

If you have any other items to discuss, please let me know prior to the meeting so I can add them to the agenda. If you have any other questions, let me know or we’ll see you at the meeting. Please remember your $ 500 deposit.

Thanks,

Darwin
